Jytte Guteland is a Member of the European Parliament for the Swedish Social Democrats since 2014. She is a full Member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) and Coordinator for the S&D group. She is a Substitute in the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), a Member of the Delegation for relations with Iran and a Substitute in the Delegation for relations with the United States.
Guteland has a master’s degree in Economics from Södertörn University. She was a member of the national executive board of the Social Democratic Youth Organisation (SSU) from 2005 to 2007 with responsibility for welfare issues, and was then the Chair of the organisation from 2007 to 2011.
She has also been a political advisor at the Ministry of Finance and at the Ministry of Education.
