Guilhem ISAAC GEORGES is graduated from the Toulouse Institut d’Etudes Politiques (France) in 2005 and from Columbia University (New York City, USA) in Ecology and Nature Conservation in 2018.
He began his career in 2006 at the Midi Pyrenees Region as Deputy Director of Cabinet in charge of Sustainable Development and European Affairs and then as Sustainable Development and Housing Advisor within the French Regions Association, between 2011 and 2015.
In 2015, he then joined the Cabinet of the Minister of the Environment, Energy and the Sea as Energy Transition and Green Jobs Advisor. There he had to deal with the organization of the COP21, the vote of the French Energy Transition Act or the Transparency commission after the VW diesel engine scandal.
In 2017, he switched towards circular economy issues as Director of Public Affairs of CITEO, the company in charge of the French Extended Producer Responsibility Scheme for household packaging and papers.
In 2019, he became Sustainability Director of Group CMA CGM, a world leader in transports and logistics, present in 160 countries, with 110.000 employees and a turnover of more than 30 billion USD.
In parallel with his professional activities, he held various volunteer positions:
- From 2014 to 2017 – Board member of the Haut Conseil pour les Biotechnologies, a French independent body responsible for informing public decision-making on all matters relating to biotechnology, including genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
- Board member of The Environment and Sustainable Development Virtual University (UVED), Thematic Digital Universities (UNT) supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
